Establishing a new internet savings bank these days is not an enterprise that is lightly undertaken. It can only be done if the basic plan for its operations is extremely well thought out. We have such a plan. We are LeasePlan Bank, part of the established Dutch financial institution LeasePlan Corporation N.V.

Why should a leasing company start a savings bank? Because we prefer to finance our activities from as many different sources as possible. Attracting funds from both corporate and private savers fits well into this strategy. In return, savers can count on attractive and transparent savings products, which is fully in line with our plan to provide clarity. We invest in assets with which we have been dealing on a daily basis for more than 45 years. We invest in car lease contracts, and particularly in sustainability. After all, green is the colour of the future. On the Dutch market already 85% of our new lease cars have an A, B or C label.

We run a highly efficient operation from our head office in Almere. And being an online bank, our overhead costs are small. Our clients are therefore not required to contribute towards regional offices, branches and cash machines. Partly because of these cost savings they can rely on attractive and transparent interest rates. In addition, our interest rates are linked to the 1-month Euribor® (the interest rate used between European banks in lending each other money). If the Euribor® increases, then the interest on our internet savings account increases accordingly. The nice thing about this system is that the progress of the Euribor® can simply be followed via the internet. In addition, our clients always have free access to their savings.

That, in short, is our plan in all its clarity and transparency.
